  • Petaluma, California (October 20, 2017) — CrossCheck, a payments guarantee company, has entered the second phase of beta testing a desktop application offering a virtual terminal for convenient check processing. Focus runs directly on a computer and eliminates the need for interfacing with a web browser while offering improved data security. Merchants still have the option of viewing transactions and funding status via the CrossCheck Merchant Check Center at

    Beta Testing

    Over 500 merchants with CrossCheck’s Classic Conversion service have used Focus to authorize transactions during phase one (launched October 2016).

    The second phase of testing enables them to access more comprehensive electronic processing services such as Remote Deposit Capture (RDC), CrossCheck’s Auto Industry RDC Solution (C.A.R.S.) and Multiple Check.

    C.A.R.S. is an integrated RDC program specifically design by CrossCheck to help automotive dealerships increase sales and reduce risk while saving time and money.

    “Our team developed an app that merchants can quickly adopt into their payment processing systems,” said Vice President Shane Miller of Information Services and Retail Systems Support. “Focus requires a minimal learning curve.”

    How does Focus work?

    Merchants conduct a one-time download and installation of Focus on their computers with the help of CrossCheck Tech Support. There is no additional charge for the desktop app.

    Focus interfaces with check scanners via a USB cable and the computer’s Ethernet connection to access CrossCheck’s check approval process. The app provides a user friendly interface as well as a secure framework for the next generation of payments guarantee.
