  • TORONTO — Volvo Cars last week announced the launch of CARE BY VOLVO™, the first automotive subscription service of its kind in Canada. Powered by Motoinsight technology, CARE BY VOLVO™ offers a streamlined approach to car ownership with an all-inclusive monthly subscription price and hassle-free upgrades to new models.

“The retail car buying experience is undergoing significant disruption. And in the not-so-distant future, the nature of ownership will evolve as well. A growing segment of consumers will not want to own a car – they will just want to drive one,” said Motoinsight CEO Andrew Tai. “The model of the future must be flexible, simplified and customer-centric. The options to drive a car off the dealership lot will soon go beyond cash, finance, or traditional lease. Similar to movies through a Netflix subscription, cars will become available at a fixed monthly fee with all the benefits of ownership and none of the hassles. We’re grateful to be working with Volvo to innovate the car buying and ownership experience.”

Motoinsight is a leader in automotive retail technology. The company’s MotoCommerce digital retailing platform is responsible for omni-channel car-buying experiences in dealerships and OEMs across Canada, the U.S. and Australia. The launch of CARE BY VOLVO™ is a bold step forward in the evolution of car ownership, and signifies the prevalence of the digital retailing movement in automotive.

“Traditional models of ownership need to be challenged and that’s exactly what we’re doing with Care by Volvo,” said Alexander Lvovich, Managing Director for Volvo Cars Canada. “The subscription service combines the benefits of tomorrow’s technology with the everyday needs of people today—more time for the things they love, fewer distractions, and a clearly defined and predictable cost. We’re proud to be the first in Canada to offer consumers a different way to own and enjoy a car.”

CARE BY VOLVO™ includes services like winter tire installation and storage and a concierge service that assists subscribers throughout every step of the process including coordinating delivery with their local Volvo retailer. Also included in the subscription is a list of extras to provide peace of mind for drivers, such as maintenance, appearance, road hazard, and wear and tear protection, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

MotoCommerce is the end-to-end solution powering this service. Beyond the digital showroom, it supports payment processing and real-time notifications when new customers subscribe. The solution is scalable to support additional vehicles as the CARE BY VOLVO™ program expands.

Just one week old, CARE BY VOLVO™ is already paying dividends – the first subscription, a V60 R-Design, was received within an hour of launch.

  • TORONTO-- Motoinsight, the leader in digital car buying experiences, today announced the launch of a new version of its digital retailing platform MotoCommerce™ for franchised and independent automotive dealers. This technology was previously available to automotive OEMs exclusively but can now enable individual dealerships and dealership groups to deliver best-in-class customer experiences.

“MotoCommerce technology was developed alongside some of the most innovative OEMs to deliver Tesla-rivaling retail experiences. However, dealerships and the in-store experience remain critical components of the customer journey that are not going away,” said Andrew Tai, CEO of Motoinsight. “Dealerships must evolve to deliver seamless shopping experiences that are competitive with what consumers have come to expect from other industries. We’re excited to now be able to help dealerships achieve this with MotoCommerce technology.”

Enhancing the customer journey in-store and online

MotoCommerce is an omni-channel solution that enables consumers to shop how they want, when they want. Dealerships using MotoCommerce can deliver revolutionary in-store tablet-based experiences where customers can save the vehicle, products, and pricing discussed in the showroom in a digital shopping cart that can be completed at home with an online checkout process. In the same way, customers that start their shopping journey online can seamlessly “wheel” their digital shopping cart into the store to review with a salesperson or finish the transaction in person.

According to a study from the global consulting firm Bain & Co.1, omni-channel solutions are critical to future dealership success – the average car buyer now switches between online and offline channels four times before purchasing and wants to move seamlessly between them. As well, more than 25% of consumers surveyed now want to purchase a vehicle online.

    MotoCommerce platform already delivering success

Genesis Motors’ deployment of MotoCommerce across online channels and 19 of its Canadian dealerships in the past year illustrates how this technology can be used to deliver a differentiated customer experience. MotoCommerce-powered Genesis at Home was a global industry first that enabled customers to complete the purchase process entirely online, including vehicle configuration, selection of accessories and warranty products, credit card reservation deposit, credit application, virtual trade-in appraisal, appointment scheduling, mobile document capture and execution, and more.

“Genesis’ mission is to offer our customers unparalleled convenience in the automotive purchase and ownership experience. The MotoCommerce platform is one of the foundational elements of this approach, providing a simple and transparent way for our customers to interact with Genesis from the comfort of their own home. We’re excited about the continuous innovation we’ve seen from the Motoinsight team and are confident they’re the right long-term partner for digital retailing,” said Michael Ricciuto, Brand Director, Genesis Motors Canada.

MotoCommerce is now available for individual dealerships and dealership groups in Canada, the United States and Australia. To learn more about MotoCommerce or to book a demo, please visit www.motoinsight.com/contact or email dealer@motoinsight.com.
