Sentry is the official insurance partner of the United States Golf Association (USGA).
The USGA has announced that Sentry has become its sixth corporate partner and the presenting sponsor of the Golf Handicap Index Network.
The five-year agreement further solidifies our long-term commitment to the game of golf. With the USGA, we’ll invest more deeply in recreational golf and engage more golfers in communities across the U.S.
As a corporate partner, we’ve joined some elite company. American Express, Cisco, Deloitte, Lexus, and Rolex are also USGA corporate partners.
For those not familiar with the USGA, it’s the United States’ national association of golf courses, clubs, and facilities and the governing body of golf for the U.S. Founded in 1894, the organization conducts many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, and U.S. Senior Open.
“The USGA and Sentry share so much in common—our genuine love of the game and our century-long commitment to building stronger communities,” said Mike Davis, CEO of the USGA. “[Sentry is] a natural fit to help us deepen our investment in the recreational game and dedicate powerful resources to advance the next generation of golfer technology.”
Pete McPartland, our chairman of the board, president and CEO, shared how this partnership is an extension of how we do business.
“We believe that there’s no better environment for building and strengthening relationships than on the golf course. Golf brings people together—business professionals, communities, and families,” Pete explained. “And the values the game teaches—integrity, fairness and a strong work ethic—are foundational to our business. Through this USGA partnership, we’re glad to have the opportunity to broaden golf’s reach and advance it in innovative ways.”
The Golf Handicap Information Network (or GHIN) is a suite of innovative technology products that connects golf associations, golf courses, and golfers together through delivery of a secure USGA Handicap Index. Our partnership will help accelerate features to deepen engagement with GHIN, help bring golfers together, create a more community feel, and allow for a more enjoyable experience on the golf course. GHIN currently serves more than 2.3 million golfers and 15,000 golf clubs nationwide.
